I went to Sarawak last couple week, at first I want to rent a car but ended up with just riding a few cabs since I stayed at a hotel which is within walking distance. The local markets, Sarawak waterfront, everything is within walking distance so no need to rent a car while I was in there.
Cab or taxi is pretty cheap too. I am comparing with my own town, Kota Bharu. Trip from Kuching airport to the downtown only cost us at RM 26 for 20 minutes trip, meanwhile in Kota Bharu at RM 30 for a 10 minutes drive. I am wondering why the taxi at Kota Bharu is way more expensive than any other places. Their cab or taxi is also old, not as new as in Sarawak.
